Hi Guys! Just want to remind all of us about The Importance of Fellowship.

From Getting Started BS, we learnt that having regular fellowship with other fellow Christians is one of the 5 habits that a disciple should have. "Habit" means "An established disposition of the character". It should be in our DNA traits that we would always fellowship and enjoy the presence of each other.

Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see the Day of the Lord is coming near.

WHY IS FELLOWSHIP SO IMPORTANT?

1. I BELONG in God's family with other believers.

Eph 2:19 (TLB)
... You are members of God's very own family, citizens of God's country, and you belong in God's household with every other Christian.

2. I need ENCOURAGEMENT to grow spiritually.

Eccl 4:9, 12 (GNB)
Two are better than one, because together they can work more effectively. If one of them falls down, the other can help him up... Two people can resist an attack that would defeat one person alone. A rope made of three cords is hard to break.

3. I need ACCOUNTABILITY to grow spiritually.

Pro 27:17 (GNB)
People learn from one another, just as iron sharpens iron.

Everyday... keep encouraging one another so that none of you is hardened by the glamour of sin.

4. Christ is PRESENT when we fellowship together.

Matt 18:20
"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

5. There is great POWER when people pray together.

Matt 18:19
"Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven."

6. Fellowship is WITNESS to the world.

John 13:35 (TLB)
"Your strong love for each other will prove to the world that you are My disciples."

7. I am OBLIGATED to every other Christian.

1 Cor 12:5, 27 (TLB)
There are different kinds of service to God, but it is the same Lord we are serving... All of you together are the one body of Christ, and each one of you is a separate and necessary part of it.

There is tremendous emphasis in the New Testament of that coming together in fellowship to minister and encourage one another. There is no such thing as a "Lone Ranger" Christian in the Bible.
